This boat had nothing in it. Now at the stage of putting seats in. Does anyone have pics of what the seats looked like on this 1963 Starcraft Starmist? Plans maybe? Only have 16” from floor to bottom of dash/console, so it obviously can’t have a tall base (if any). Several pics would be helpful for me to determine what seats to get or rig up.

I'm 90% sure that the Starmist was available in 2 configurations, One had 2 wooden and upholstered benches, which would have been a cruiser configuration, and then another configuration was 2 B2B loungers and that would have been a skiier configuration

Note that I think Starcraft used 6" bases on the B2B loungers which are not available. Wise has some seats with 8" bases and that is what I put in my very similar Holiday 14 OB, when I ripped out the fisherman benches.. I sit a bit over the windshield and a little tall, but I'll wait for the plastic bases to break before I construct 6" bases

Thank you Matt. I have come across the Wise 8” base config. I’m trying to find a store that has one of these seats in stock, but so far it’s an online order only (guess it’s Covid). I want to see one and check if I can cut the base further down and have the seat parts still fit in the cut base when stowed in the upright position. Also to see how short I can cut the base and it still works. Ordered the Nautolex floor, looking at paint and primer next. I may have this project in the water this season, minus the windshield. Thank you for the info and pic!

You would need to build a new base. The plastic Wise base's use plastic supports top and bottom that fit into slots along the top and bottom edge. You can build bases fairly easy.. Pretty sure anywhere you buy them, they are made to order and drop shipped

Update…
Down to windshield and hardware, foot steps on side rails and Bimini top. Looks good so far. Any tops on where to get the 4 windshield mounting hardware and the foot step rubber inserts would be appreciated.

I just picked up this Starmist today and joined the forum. I am unsure if these are the original design seats but they seem unusual enough and appear to fit right. The structure is steel tubing. The boat looks pretty much original but after 60 years it’s anyones guess.
