Impeller Replacement '81 90 HP

1981 90 HP Johnson. I've been looking at the OMC service manual and replacing the impeller looks straightforward enough. Just a couple of questions.

The manual calls for the use of OMC Moly Lube, OMC Adhesive "M", and OMC Gasket Sealing Compound. What are the auto parts store equivalents of these?

Is it necessary to remove the trim tab? I can't tell from the drawings.

Pretty sure that there is a countersunk bolt underneath your trim tab, so yes, it has to come off.

Scothgrip #847 is the equivalent of M. Get a can of the OMC Gasket Sealing Compound, with the brush built into the lid. Quality stuff.

OMC/BRP Moly Lube #175356 is a high temp, high friction, high pressure grease. Caliper grease like Sta-Lube SL3303 would probably do.
