Ok, I get it now...I'm hoping not to spend to much (since I don't have much to spend anyway!)
I got the boat, working engine, starter battery, and trailer for $900. I could've talked them down to $700 most likely, but I didn't try since the money gets donated to the Carteret Community College which I feel is a good enough cause. The hull is in good shape all-around inside and out. The engine works well and was tested at 125psi on all 4 cylinders. A new water pump was recently installed according to the sellers.
Anyway, I had to buy new trailer wheels (~$35 each), 2" hitch ball (~$5), new trailer jack (~$40), new trailer wench (~$40), new trailer tie-downs w/ wratchet (~$20), engine tie-down w/ wratchet (~$15), fuel fill hose for 12-gal internal tank ($12), gas cap for internal tank ($30), 2 6-gal external gas tanks, anchor (~$15), navigation light-bulbs ($7) and that's it for now.
A co-worker gave me a free 36lb Minn Kota trolling motor that works very well, but I had to buy a new battery that was about $85.
I plan on re-upholstering the seats and seat backs on the bow with vinyl, foam, and marine plywood. I also might put down some new boat carpet to make it look better possibly. I also need to buy some non-marking trailer rollers.
oh yeah and also bought sunlotion, two fishing poles (one for me and one for my girlfriend
), tackle box, and ~$75 worth of gas for every trip out.... and sometimes two tall-boys
. However.....
Boating fun on the lake......priceless!!!
