Just got a call from Microsoft Support. The caller told me my IP address has been compromised from several countries and to press 1 to connect with a technician to reassign my IP address or my IP addy would disconnected in 48 hours.

In my haste to press 1, I inadvertently hung up. I'm losing the Internet in 2 days. What am I going to do? I hope they call back.

Have received 3 social security calls

Strange but when my grandson and wife was here, we talked about phones listening in. Mentioned about China and said maybe next time I'll (ding dong, wa chee -- imitation Chinese talk) to him. We had a laugh, and then the next morning I got a strange call and answered on speaker, and there was some of the same ding dong kind of talk.

Seconds ago I got a message from my Internet provider saying they are doing tech work from 8AM to Noon. Oh no, what am I going to do in the AM? Maybe go outside where it's hovering around 90F that feels like 110F. I can run to the truck and turn on the AC. Run back in until it cools off. I might get a tick bite, a skiiter bite or UV rays that all cam kill me. I'm ascared.

I thought Micro Soft doesn't make calls. I once got a call from someone named Bob from Boston from Micro Softe that had trouble speaking English. All he wanted was all my passwords and banking info.He got upset when I told him we don't even have a computer, what's a computer Bob from Boston. The best was when I asked him what state Boston was in?

Heck my IP has been suspended 2 times this week and my SSN has been suspended 4 times, guess no more internet or SS payments for me!

Odd, all I ever get is far off prince's looking for someone to help them transfer millions out of their own country. They just need my bank info and its an easy 12% windfall for doing basically nada.....

Or the executor of a never been heard of before, long lost rich dead relative, who "only" needs me to pay the inheritance tax upfront to release untold millions DIRECTLY to me. Well, sure, heres my bank info......

She called back, this time the CID said Out Of Area. Then another call the CID said was Fraudulent Call - Why can't all the fraud be marked and more importantly, why let the call through in the first place.

When the very poor imitation sounding Siri called the first time, the CID showed my name and my phone number - That takes a lot of cheek to call myself to scam myself.

Out of curiosity, I dialed my number and after a couple of rings sounds in my ear, a message came on saying someone on my line was calling my line. Well :doh:! Then after hanging up another call from the phone company and a message that someone on my line called me and next time to give time to answer the incoming call. Well double :doh:! How do you answer an incoming call when the phone making the call is calling you? Maybe a leftover party line thing. :noidea:

BTW Scott - No solar panels, but my apartment complex is having Gutter Gards and a new security system installed courtesy of a Capital One CC number from the latest disclosed breech.

Social Security
IRS
Your Utilities

Microsoft doesnt care
Social Security uses snail mail
IRS uses snail mail
your utilities send a goon to shut off your services if you dont pay.

99.9% of phone calls are scams these days. especially when a call comes in with the area code and pre-fix of my cell phone (its a NE-WI area code with a US-Cellular prefix). They are all scams

Nowadays I don't answer calls unless it's from a contact I have - have certainly missed legit calls. I missed a call from an office or person I needed to talk to, so answered another call from a number not known. It was a person, so I indicated this was not a convenient time, but I am interested, just give me your name and number and I'll call you back when it's convenient...they hang up quick!
