I'm back........and you guys never knew I was gone.

Was up North this weekend doing a little Ice fishing. The temps got as cold as -32F with some nasty wind. The warmest day I had on the Ice was 12F. But never will you find a day when -0F temps keep me off the water.<br /><br />Me getting ready to brave the frigid.<br />

LOL, nope no ice, just that 28in Pike. Which is small in Pike standards is fairly large for most Northern Wisconsin Lakes.......out state likes to cater to Musky Fisherman. Almost every lake up there is Class A musky now.<br /><br />Although at -30F anything wet was instantly freezing so when the auger sprayed water everywhere I technically caught some ice whie cutting holes.

I stayed in from fishing because it was in the high 20,you nothern folks would give pnemona and freeze whatever brain cells i still have.

Nope no shanty........<br /><br /><br />The house I was at is right on the lake.....I was jigging for perch for awhile but caught nothing.(sitting on a 5 gallon bucket) I could see the tip-ups from inside so I watched them from there on occasion. Otherwise I was outside splitting firewood (when not jig fishing)<br /><br /><br />Pic of firewood (1/2 of what I took home)<br />

you aint right pony! no fish or firewood is worth that kind of cold. and that comes from a born and raised wisconsinite. ice fishing is fun but you wont catch me on the ice when the temps are below 10. 2o if its really windy. i guess when i was younger i was alittle more brave. altho i cannot ever remember jigging for perch in neg degree temps. tipups set out and kick back in shanty yeah. but outside jigging now way! way bigger cajones than me! well probably not after the weekend in that kind of cold

Welcome back PONY.<br /><br />Can you say "shrinkage"?<br /><br />Just funnin. Like I should be one to talk about crazy winter activities. As long as you have the proper gear, cold temps can be tolerated.

That was a carefully selected word choice. <br /><br />I enjoy water skiing in the winter as long as trhe temps are at or above freezing. I try not to ANYTHING outside when it's much below zero.

YUP! I have the gear so its not bad. I really wasnt cold at all outside.<br /><br />The blaze orange above are made for extreme temps.....the carhart jacket I have is also quite warm.
