Identifying Johnson 70

Hi everyone. New member here.

I bought a Henry O Challenger 150 (basically for the trailer!) and I powerwashed her and I actually really like the boat. It came with a Johnson 70 with the lower unit in the boat. Engine looks pretty clean but the previous owner couldn't give me any info on it. The sticker (not a plate) is unreadable.

The freeze plug on the block has the code G2251493 printed on it. I will try and post some pics of the cowl. Otherwise, are there any other clues to date this thing? I can get any info when I get home later. Thanks for any help and I look foreward to being part of this community!

86-88 maybe. Put up a pic of the powerhead with a pic of the head and sides. Also a pic of the top of the drive shaft specifically the splines.

Thank you for the reply. I will post those pics later. I also have this pic of the plate on the carbs. A quick search shows they replace 89 and 90 models. Although I'm not sure if they cover other model years also.

There is not much difference from year to year.----I say it is an 89 / 90 model.------The 1991 decals were different.
