Re: iboats forum is addicting?!

My wife diagnosed me months ago:eek:. I am in therapy.......but it's obviously not working. I think boats/ boating are whats addictive to some, and some are forever immune. It takes a little bit of crazy, to really love boats and we are all just commiserating:D:facepalm:

You know you have a problem when you show up at a fellow iboat members house. You both look at each other cant believe your doing this as how wrong it is to meet people from the Internet and party all night long like you have know each other all you life. Yup no problem here.:D

Hi all, Great group of people here and the products sold by iBoats that I had purchased are second to none in quality and price. I do a lot more reading than writing on iBoat forums as it's just a wealth of boating information and tips. I feel quite lucky to have found this site and hope to be a contributor for many years to come. When it comes to being part of a marine family, I feel I'm home--here.

Well...on that idea we're having a get together tonight...all are welcome...might need a bigger house?!

Joking, anyway, if anyone in Colorado EVER want's to get together (spring/summer/fall, of course?) we can be found at either Lake Pueblo. Lake Meredith, or Horsetooth Reservoir every other weekend! Always, and I mean always, cold adult beverages...we're kid friendly too! Between my family and all our friend's kids there must be 12 + kids!

Happy Boating and Happy iboating!

Brett

BTW, I'm like 99% sure those of you doing the restorations are either a) dragging them out so you can keep the built thread open as long as possible or b) are already done and are pacing your posts out to keep them open?! This is not a critique nor am I ribbing you, merely an observation!

Re: iboats forum is addicting?!

This is a great post. I have been in marine repair for almost 21 years, I was shown the rope's buy a guy that started in 1960, in a small town marina that is on the lake. The lake has 36 miles of shore line. And back then we had 34 resorts. When I started we were down to just 21. I learned very early on how to take care of people and there issues. I must admit back then, the repairs were mostly C.D.I boxes, and water in fuel. Or gummed up carb's. Today things are little more involved. What I mean by that, is I take the laptop to the dock first, then the tool box. But one thing has remained the same for me over the years. I just really enjoy salvaging a family vacation. I feel 10 ft tall at the end of the day. even though I am only 5'5.

I'm not a member of the I.B.A. But I guess, I could pass this along if anyone can make it 30 days!

What makes it worse is I can iboats with my phone. No, i am able to stop whe I'm driving.

Mrs Kick Back plays games on here phone (constany). I play iboats (constantly). At least now I have something to do while she plays her games.

I would encourage everyone on the forum to do this. I've made a couple very good friends from here. It's easier than you think. If you see someone from your area, send them a PM and just say "hey, I'm in your area and I'd love to stop over and check out your boat". I guarantee you'll get a frosty beverage and probably at least a 2 hour conversation :D

Re: iboats forum is addicting?!

Have met several iboaters and all have been class acts. As for the iboats addiction, it is not so noticable till I go to another country that is blocked by iboats ... 30 days cold turkey is NOT fun!!!!!!

Look up IP spoofing or IP emulating software. It tricks the host into thinking you're in a different geographic location. I've used it to watch Trailer Park Boys on Showcase before it came to Netflix. Showcase wouldn't let me stream because I was in the USA.

Be aware that IP spoofing software has many illicit uses..hacking, DNS attacks etc. The only reason I'm adding this is because you'll run across some questionable uses before you find a decent source that doesn't look like it's going to hijack your computer.

I have tried that route, halfmoa. I can do it, but it is a MAJOR pain to do so with the proxies I have used. Even worse than when I was on dial-up. And I was out of the country when I first came to iboats. Same country, but different rules now ...:(

That's too bad. IDK if I could go from 2-6 hours 5 days a week on here to NOTHING for a month.
