A buddy of mine asked if I was interested in a computer. I said what you got. His son in law was blowing out some units that were to be used for the Toyota set up and were not needed.

I got a Dell, 40gig, keyboard and mouse, for 125 bucks. It came with a floppy drive (surprising), windows XP, CD RW, modem, and is very very fast. I set it up with an old monitor I had laying around, but ordered a 19" flatscreen for 110 bucks.

For $250 I nabbed a heck of a nice set up. Sometimes good things just fall into your lap.

Sweet Deal.......

I handed off My Dell to My Love last year, when I was convinced by My local 'puter Geek to buy an Acer from him.....

Now, I miss My Dell,...... Quieter, Quicker,.......Oh Well.....

There's a biz in Madison called SWAP that sells surplus and used university and government computers (among other things). Some of the deals there are unbelievable. I've taken advantage a few times. My main (but currently used offfliine) computer is from them. This one is from a biz that sells similarly to support a rehab program in Portage. Swap's come without OS, this came with.

Every time I've Tried to Fix 1 of My 'puters,...... Is when I end up Buying a New 1................

That's How I ended up with the Dell in the 1st place,....
I was Trying to install a DVD deck in place of the original CD deck in my old HP........

DVD deck wouldn't Work,... Then the original CD deck wouldn't Work,.... Then the HP 'puter Wouldn't Work,......

So,.........
I Bought a Dell.................

That's why I build my own.

As do we. Just spend a couple months getting parts off of the Tiger direct sale ad and ebay, and assemble it, and you have what you want with out all the crap that comes preloaded on prebuilt ones.
BTW. For those that don't know, you can get great deals on Tiger direct. Just watch the online sale ads. My 19" plasma screen came for 99 bucks after 50 dollar rebate. Got four 1G flash drives for 5 bucks each. Handy little stocking stuffers.
