I have two homes one of which I have kept just in case things did not work out on the re-marry thing.
My boat is kept at my second home in the winter because of space.

Got a call from the local Sheriff last week to tell me that my garage had been broken into. When I got there I saw two kids ages ten and twelve sitting in back of the crusier. Guys they trashed my boat. Some of you may have seen pictures of my boat. They smashed both depth finders and every thing else they could hammer. They took a Screw driver and destroyed about 500 dollars worth of murals I had on the side and scarred the paint with a sharp object. They put anything they could find in my gas tank,Can of coffee, nails, and god knows what else. I asked them why and was told for kicks. Parents are on welfare and could care less what they do.

To vent my anger I visited my local VFW and proceded to get Pigeon-toed,knocked kneed and comode hugging drunk.

When I went to work the next day I reached into my pocket to pull my keyes out and a pack of my favorite cowboys came out with them. All I can say it was a good one. Knew I was in trouble that night when I got home because instead of a nice supper waiting I was greeted with a whole chicken(uncooked) on my plate with some cigs stuffed in the rear and others neatly scattered around plate with a note that said only a..h....smoke.

It will be a while before I'm forgiven on this one even though I thought I had a pretty good reason. Fifteen months of hard work trashed because someone wanted some kicks......unreal....

Kick my dog, insult my wife but don't mess with my pride and joy which is my boat.............

AAUUUGGGHHH!!!!

GF, I feel your pain, both for the boat and the irrational search for escape. :(

The wagon: Get right back on it. :)

The boat: No suggestions. I once had one of my customized hotrods stolen and trashed. Even though insurance paid a ton to "fix" her I never liked or trusted that machine again. I sold her and started over on another one. :(

Hay Gone,

BIG Bummer-Wow!
This could be an opening to another long socialogical debate but THAT won't do you a bit of good.

There are no "reasons" for fallin-off but looks from here like you've got the Mother off all excuses for your little slide.

I can't offer any support on your Toe-Back-ee "Ooops" as I have yet to stare that demon down. But you'll do ok with it.

Where in Ohio are you?
Me and mine are south central Indiana. 'Pendin' on where you're at AND what the "better-half" has lined out for me this weekend,.... well,... maybe we could haul it on over to your hood and give you a hand with your "puttin'-it-back-together"

Gonfishn... Totally forgiveable reason for falling off (more like getting knocked off) the wagon... Just dust yourself off and get back up on it... ;)

You actually caught the little Bass-turds in the act?.. Hope you are insured and I hope the Judge throws the book at em', and their parents...

The kids parents are responsible for the kids I would think, but anymore I have no idea with the way things are handled now.
Hope for the insurance and maybe a good set of parents that will take care of it.
Get right back on the wagon and stay there for you and your families good.

Parents are legally responsible for the kids this much I know. Whether or not you can sue the parents or would get anything only a lawyer can tell you.
All the rest is a good reason to fall off the wagon and by falling you have a defense that sometimes works on our wives especially if you get right back on. If you were drunk and upset you realy should not be held too responsible for what you did. Make sure she knows how sorry you are and also how upset angry and hurt you were and remind her that although you did something realy stupid you did not follow your first instinct which would have landed you in jail.

Re: I fell off the wagon--big time

Thanks guys---Kids were still in cruiser when I got there. Neighbors called when they noticed light on in garage. Same night they were released to parents. That young I doubt much will be done/
Ins will take care of it. Thank god they did not get to my two engines. Probably will d/c gas tank but to get to it I'll have to rip platform out.

Murals are ordered and body man will fix it up for me on the paint side. Bright side is that value of fish finders kinda double in value and so did front trolling motor.

Court date is in ten days but parents got no money and kids more than likely will get a slap on the hand.

After wife saw boat she eased down on me a mite but chewed out my buds who consoled me at the VFW that night(blamed them for letting me get out of hand).lol--She did cook my chicken minus the cigs and she also took some pictures to remind me I'm sure for a future shopping trip she has planned.

Haven't touched the cigs since my pitty party nor the spirits since that night. Jose Querv.Gold shots and beer was my choice that night.

Thanks for the support. Figured you guys would pick me up and I do appreciate it.........Probably will find me on boat projects next looking for a gas tank .....

Re: I fell off the wagon--big time

gonfishn, put it back together dude, and I feel your pain. Friends of mine had a similar experience with their cabin. Punks do need some server butt whooping and made to pay or replace for damages. I am somewhat surprised at that around you, the gall, but the signal is clear. Lets just say you are recovered, carry on. To bad you’re from Ohio, and not from here or I to could help with the cleanup. I know I would have tied one on 2. Good luck to you man.

Your wife must be a character. I think I like her. She's obviously on your side for the long haul. I bet you can find the silver lining of this story there.

Gonfishn, I am sorry man. That is one of the worst things that can happen. I hope your insurance company comes through for you on this. I don't know if I would have been able to stop myself from getting at thos kids and their parents. I am glad you are back on the wagon and cooked your chicken. Sounds like something my wife would do.

Re: I fell off the wagon--big time

gonfishin Man oh man, how did you not bash thier beaks in? I applaud your self control... going back a few years my step-father, a car guy, was having a drink in the local pub. Another customer came in and said aloud there was some jerks keying a car outside. Dad stood up to the window to see 2 punks running around his Trans Am dragging sharp rocks over it. The car was a Gold '79 / 5600 miles on it, it was absolutely like brand new. Pops ran out after them and although he's a big man, he can move when he's mad! He caught one of them and was dragging the ***** back to the pub when the dude tried to 'punch out the old man'. Dad pounded the dude, black eyes and bleedin' lips. When the police arrived they agreed the fella had a nasty fall trying to get away. He said it was theraputic smackin' the dude out... made him feel really good. I bet the vandal never scratches another car. The car was repainted but was never the same.
