I changed my lower end your oil on my Evinrude 18 hp guy at AutoZone said that should work??? making sure

I wouldn’t. It contains limited slip additives. Marine oil can be skipped if you have a good sealed out drive. If you so choose to, for whatever reason. Marine oil has emulsifiers that will hold water in suspension with oil. It’s good insurance to just use marine gear oil in the correct viscosit…. Also not sure how you filled it with that bag bottle

First of all, is your gearcase mechanical shift or some sort of electromechanical shift, as the older Johnnyrudes were?

For mechanical shift motors, I would use a marine gear oil for mechanical shift motors. Most modern marine engine use it. Even Wallyworld usually carries it.

If the motor is electromechanical shift, you need a special gear oil. It used to be called "Type C". Not sure if that is still what it is called.

Good news is OP is okay, at least their gear case is using the pictured oil. Best to use high perf or gl5 spec oil but the 75-90 will suffice

I think the last time I introduced a valvoline product to anything I own was in high school. No doubt the guy at autozone is a seasoned boater

so u guys think i should take this stuff out and get some marine gear oil? Idk why this guy told me to buy this stuff.

I was squeezing the stuff in through the bottom port until came out the top worked allright. So u think i should just take this crap out then and get marine stuff or do u think i should be good till then end of the season.

Need something that will still protect your gears when water gets in the gearcase

I would really like to know what special Additive is there to protect the Gears when there is water mixed in? In every Marine Gearcase and Auto/Truck Differential that I drained, with water contaminated Oil, the gears, axles, bearings all seemed okay. That Irish Creme stuff appears to provide some protection whether or not it is Marine Oil

I know this Clown needed change his Diff oil

I think @Bondo uses auto stuff in his drives.
Ayuh,..... I run full-syn gear oil in my drives,... the rust stopping additive is Oil,....Either Mobil 1, or Pensoil full-syn 75W-90, whichever my local Napa has on their shelf that day,....
The Valvoline in the picture will work just fine,.....

Years ago, I had a water intrusion issue,.... There were clumps of water mixed oil, 'n oil without water clumps mixed in,....
All of it was still oily on my fingers, as well as the oil coated gears,.....
No rust to be found,....

The milky stuff really isn't the issue, more the problem when it sits and separates over time, and all the oil floats on top. Surely you don't believe all gear lube is the same, interchangable?
Emulsifiers and anti-foam. And some sort of clinging ingredient.

Put some Merc marine lube on one hand, and some regular lube on the other hand.
Now go to a sink and see which one rinses off your hand.

I know the Stench of either remains on my hands for Days. I finally found that Clorox Bleach will remove the Stench. It will get Hot as it interacts with the Traces of Oil, but at least the Stench will vanish

Gee, the important debate is not whether this gear oil will work for the OP. I believe that the OP should research/determine the correct gear oil for his motor and not trust random auto parts guys to know the correct answer.

Suppose the motor was electro mechanical shift, as lots of Johnnyrudes were, would the auto parts guy know/carry the right gear oil?

Years ago.----Auto parts guy put Sierra parts catalogue on the counter.----Said---" you know what you are looking for "-----Gave me an old copy to take home.
