For me I have learned more about the people in the US and others around the world . Before I always had the stereo type knowledge of the American people. I now feel that it does not mater were we live geographically we all have the same needs (bigger boat). Hats off to the iboat community.

It hasn't exactly redefined me as a person, or significantly altered the way I view life, but...

For me, the value is in the way this forum provides me with alternative viewpoints that wouldn't have occurred to me otherwise. I'm usually smart enough (I said 'usually') to separate the valuable from the BS, and there have been many, many times when my response to a post was, 'huh... I hadn't thought of that.'

There's value in that.
