Over the last 20 or 30 years Americans have been calling for more and more freedom for the news media. You have been calling it your right to know. Now you have the largest, most invasive media in the history of the planet. Well done! So why are you now calling for a media blackout on the New Orleans disaster? Doesn't the rest of the world have a right to know about how degenerated that city has become? How in less than a week without authority the popualtion have regressed a thousand generations, back to tribal 'wars'? How the gun totting masses are killing each other? I even see footage of looters taking TVs. What are they going to do, sit in their water logged living rooms watching a blank screen? Somebody forgot to tell them that the power is out! And this is the mighty USA! Oh, how the mighty fall so fast! The world leaders of anachy!!!! Your government preachs about bring democracy and peace to warring countries, but you have shown the rest of the world just how you respond to a similar situation in your own backyard, and you are far worst than anyone else.

I missed something. Who asked for less coverage? I asked for more. I want the bloated bodies shown, I want to see the 911 attack everyday, and in all the high schools during civics class. If they still exist. <br /><br />This is how we save lives. Well that should say something about where that jackarse is comming from.As usual, the communist wants to know why some people have better luck than others. we are all trying to help our less fortunate neighbors, and while some of us don't give a damn about the media, we still want to help. As for an idiot like Achris, what are you trying to prove ? do we have problems durring the worst dissaster to ever hit our country...sure we do. Just be glad that we do not depend on help from your country.....we know it would never happen, even though we (the US) always help every other country in need.Your last few posts have proven what a jackarse you are. There have been many times that I thought boating brought us together. I was wrong. If Achris is such a moron that he does not realize that this is the worst single dissaster to hit the US, and all he can do is throw blame, then he is no fellow boater to me or anyone else. I have no interest to hear anything he says, if you do, well that is your perogative. As far as I can see, all he is doing is to throw mud in our face while we are down. Where in the he11 is help from your country ? where are the words of hope we would expect to hear from you ? Who in the he11 are you to criticize us ? Be very glad that I do not have any "fingers on the triger" or you would be feeling our pain too. My god, we have debated proper engine repair techniques and now you feel the need to question our country while we have suffered a terrible loss....you are a piece of ****tt.

even japan has sent aid and they just took a shot with a wind storm themselves. however japan like tiawan seems to have better hardened their structures and do their typhoon planning and evacs a bit different. works for them. the so called anarchy was not city wide. just a few but they got all the attention. even some new orleans cops were on tv getting a new pair of shoes.<br /> I just cant wait for the x box video game of the city of new orleans<br /> will have to escape/dodge flood waters and get extra points for shooting choppers and rescue workers.<br />but Achris we still have the best in the world, not perfect but the best so far.<br /> seems the NO police eliminated a few of the undesirables. maybe they will get medals.<br /> I wish to have more freedom of the press myself but I also wish the news be reported as fact with no slant or personal influence. Let me say I believe with all my heart that the Aussies are one of our countries biggest and best allies and I would welcome any of you to our country.(Cept Achris) In the past you have been great freinds and true allies to us time and time agian. Ya...where did ya get that from Chris?? I do not recall seeing or hearing anything about a news blackout. <br /><br />In fact, the media have been helpful in pointing out areas that needed help. Understand that communications is at a minimum for the authorities. That said, some have gone out of their way to show, exaggerate or slant anything that would slam the Bush administration.<br /><br />Let us all give Chris a break.... please. We do not know what information they are receiving down there from their media.

Jeeeezzzz, I am pretty close to agreement with all of the responses Chris. You need to get some sleep or sumpin' . . . Where in heck is all of your anger coming from??? Wow? <br /><br />The ones using the guns were criminal BEFORE Katrina. They just continued and elevated their crap when they knew that no one was there to stop them.<br /><br />Also, I will definitely second the other comments on the media. What we want is MORE media coverage. Coverage that includes ALL of the story. The rescues, the charity, the volunteers, the real or imagined influence of race, the real or imagined influence of poverty, the early response lapses. I don't want this for blame or shame. I want this for a true understadning of the whole deal and to allow for prudent decisions on changes for the future. By prudent I mean changes that we can use for occurences that happen, oh let's say every 100 years. But this was a 500 year event!!!!!<br /><br />I would submit that if Perth were hit with a Tsunami that you were given two days of notice of, that there would be similar people left behind. Your Aborigines would probably be highly represented in that group as the current condition of the poorest blacks in the US and the poorest Aborigines in Oz is very similar. Oh, and BTW, that would be a Tsunami where the water stayed behind and didn't drain back to the sea . . .<br /><br />I would also suggest that it would take just as long for the first responders and the East to arrive to save the day.

just came back from the doctors office, they had CNN on in the waiting room, solid hour of continous video feed & stories about NO with no repitition, exactly what is it you want, achris?<br /><br />One reporter said the White House is declining requests for interviews at the present time...is that what you call a "media blackout?"
