HPDI oil issue

Did a search with no luck so hopefully someone can help me. I have twin year 2000 200hp HPDI's. Over the last year or so the port motor began using over twice as much oil as the starboard motor. By my rough calculations the port motor is using oil at a rate of 25:1.

Probably not good for the motor long term and a waste of yamalube. Oil rod appears to be adjusted correctly and the motor runs great.

Any ideas as to why, and how to fix?

Thanks.

Re: HPDI oil issue

either the oil rod fell off and the pump is at wide open or the pump shaft seals are leaking and cranckcase vacum is pulling oil into the crankcase.

Also, do you think it would be worth it to swap oil injection pumps from one motor to the other to see if the problem follows?
