here is a picture of the gauge I have...it already has this unusual bar from one connection to the other....

I have 5 different places to wire up.. and I am not sure how to do it

I have four gauges...so I am running a black ground from gauge to gauge, and then the last one to my ground bussbar

I am running a wire from my nav lights switch to one gauge and then i am jumping the rest from gauge to gauge again...

I have a trim wire set of a black....a white with brown stripe( sender wire) and I have the purple

I know the purple is my power from the ignition

there appears to be more than one place to hook up ground

plus many times some of the gauges has a black soldered path that runs to one of the mounting bolts!!!

anyone know what all the connections are for and where I hook up my ground and why I have a jumper already on the gauge?

thanks

The bar is a required resistor. The terminals should be lettered as "I", "G", and "S".

I = Purple
G = Black
S = White/Brown

I knew the wireing color codes...but I thought the little recesses were molding openings...

but with a loop , I could see the letters G, S, and I

so I wonder why there is a line of connection from the mounting post screw and the ground??

thanks, for making me look closer
