Hello I have 4.3 V6, can anyone tell me how to turn the engine by hand?
I read using 27mm socket is dangerous, but why? In any car its ok to turn the crank by hand.
Looking forward for advice

Best regards

Ayuh,..... Is the motor in the boat, with the drive,..??
If so, chances are you can't turn it by hand,.....

Otherwise, tighten the belts, 'n use the nut on the alternator, or if the starter is off it, pry on the ring gear teeth,.....

Don't use the crankshaft bolt, as it results in a broken crankshaft bolt,.....

If you remove the spark plugs with the drive off it's possible to turn the engine with a socket on the crank bolt. Not the best way but if the engine is sound you ought to be able to succeed with this method. If there is resistance, like your beyond 50 lb/ft torque do not continue trying to rotate the assembly, that's when one can break a crank bolt. Never seen it happen personally but anything can go wrong quickly

To check alignment, to spray fog tinto the spark plugs then turn the engine or turn the engine after the winter ,
