David Pascoe, the marine surveyor, recommends the same treatment but it needs plenty of applications.
I've read concerns about weakening resin structure "interferring with cross linking in the resin" or some such on the boat building websites but I see some misunderstanding there.
Its one thing to mis-use thinned resin in molding hulls or critical strength situations but in this application the wood itself is the structure.
