how to time a 5.7 omc engine

I't will start but takes a long time to do so.....
seams like once I get it started, it has a slight miss to it....

any help would be nice......

Pretty much the same way you time any engine. Lots of howto's can be found with an Internet search. Lots of good info in this sticky thread: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=288430

Be sure to ALWAYS have water running through the outdrive when running the engine (hook up the muffs or put the boat in the water). Engine idle will be a bit different in the water than out due to the lack of back-pressure when running on the trailer.
