Always great to see how the masters do it.
Would like to see the remaining steps for completion, like the sanding and fairing and gel coat finnish.

I don't know if this is allowed but check out gasser glass on you tube. Very informative, detailed, and entertaining. Look through his videos and watch how he teaches you how to make the molds and parts from frp

Yep , what jbc said . I had originally thought that you just flipped and used the whole mold/part for the other side part . I see now you only used the piece that was identical and cut the unusable part out . Do you have a pic of the finished product ? It would be cool to see how it turned out !

Yup .. I will try to remember to take some pics in the morning and post them up.

Just to let you know that the pics are not going to be completed at this point ( a few reasons that I cant tell you ).

But I will post up some basically finished results along with the photo library address .

No Problem .. Although I hope you understand this thread was dedicated on how to replicate a part or Mold.

I would be happy to supply more pics of How the part was installed .. but it still was not the point .

I made a mold to make my dashboard a while back. It was a lot of fun.

It might be best if we break it down to 'Processes' instead of the full blow application of all things needed from start to finish .

I would not want How to gel .. or how to glass in one final thread. There is just too much going on.

I think a point by point would do better

First off .. unless my firefox is redirecting me .. I had to search for that vid..

Secondly .. the maker of that vid is a newb ..

He is going to 'send the part out to be painted' ?? um .. why ?? Thats just a *** on an ants bottom side. The Uploader cant even spray or prime/paint his own parts ??? and this is a good link ?

I have never found a GOOD YT. link yet .. if you find one let me know.

I have considered a YT vid .. but I dunno ..

As far as painting though, personally I would just gelcoat then glass for a perfect finish

That's a Youtube Mobile link. Doesn't work if you're on a PC, but if you click on it, and change the 'm' to be 'www', it works fine.

Great how to by the way . boatnut74 for sure you can but it is alot of work. Actually alot of molds are built exactly that way. They change something up just a bit so they don't get caught for copyrights. Actually I have done it , not for myself but where I worked . I think I might make my own swim platform after I restore my boat. Take a piece of foam model what I want and build off it to the end product. Then I could make a mold from my finished product. I will not do that as I will only be building the one.
