How to cut Stainless steal?

I had some aluminum trim pieces and on the boat and I had them made up in Stainless but the person cut them about 1/2 too long. What is the best way to cut them down? The are about 16 guage stainless steel.

You can try a sawsall or a grinder..... The BEST option is to have them cut professionally during the week. I love stainless but it is a paint to work with ..... I have special carbide drill bits just for the holes.

If you do try cutting with a sawsall put a layer of tape over the cut so you do not scratch the piece.

A nice sharp metal blade in a jig saw works good

the best way is a cut off wheel on an angle grinder. cuts it like butter.

Yeah a 1/16" cutoff wheel on a 4 1/2" grinder with a steady hand

Thanks for the info. Does it take any special cut off wheel? I have a cordless grinder I will give that a shot. Thanks again for the info.

Any cut off blade will work. Put the piece in a vice and wear safety glasses or face shield.

Wear a full face shield with a cut off wheel please the face you save might be your own .
