Now that the engine is out, drill some test holes in the transom and stringers for water. I like 1/4" or larger holes because it's easier to fill than itty bitty holes. Also helps to dry out wet wood.

Everything good and the boat doesn't look neglected, go for it. If the boat looks like it's been sitting for some time, maybe the seller just wants to get rid of it and will go lower.

dunno about the price, but you might want to ask the owner before you start drilling holes.... If I was selling it, I'd tell you look at the outdrive cutout for now, and drill all the holes you want after you paid me.

hi there the hull already was inspected solid no signs of rotten the guy who is selling the boat bought it from the original owner he spend 5000$
on a brand new motor and labor, he took the boat out for first time and the water hose coming from outdrive was kinked so motor overheat get water on the cilinders AND he left the boat in the marina for couple of weeks when the when back to check the motor was locked so he get tired and want to sell it for 500$ he sold the outdrive to someone else, inside is very clean all controls are there gauges.

Go as low as you can, if you get it for $300 you just saved yourself 200, right.
I would give that for what you said, sounds like a nice project.

It's a wellcraft for $500. Grab it and don't look back. The toys on it are worth that. Just confirm that it didn't sink when it had its problems.

After reading the ad the boat is an even better deal and they probably will get all $500, engine still in boat hopefully with all its accessories, thats a big savings on fitting a new engine.

WOW...I would have bought that in a second for a winter project. Doesn't say what engine, but if it's any of the GM blocks, that's a cheap rebuild...if he's telling the truth about the hydro lock (my guess).

He said no motor or outdrive in the boat. Man, that looks like a really sharp boat not the typical project boat. Great find.

Great deal! Wish it was around when I was looking for my project.. if you are in the Miami area, you can get a remanufactured longblock from Rapido Marine and not ave to pay shipping.. Nice job!
