How much does my 50 hp merc weigh?

I have a 2000 mercury 2-stroke 50 hp outboard. Anyone have an idea how much one weighs? Can a couple guys lift it off the transom and put it on a stand or should I invest in getting a lifting eyelet?

Depending on the model number and whether standard gear casing or Bigfoot, from the manual Specs section, 205 to 219lbs.

To get an eyelet or not, how much is the engine worth to you?

Two Guys should be able to lift it No problem

go to NADA and look up outboard motor..it will include dry weight with valued price.

It's not too bad my 14 year old son and I carried mine 50 feet without a sweat.

I ended up getting the lifting ring. It sure made it an easy job with a chain fall. I built a motor stand from the plans on this site and it worked well also.
