How does this pin come out?

1986 Force 85hp. Trying to remove lower unit for water pump inspection. How do I get this pin out on the shift rod? Does the whole thing come out or just the tiny insert?

looks like the rod needs to spin one way or another for that pin to come out. jmo

This is the pin that secures the shift rod, held on with a cotter pin. Should push out....no need to spin anything. Looks kinda corroded, maybe spray some penetrant on it and work it out......just be careful and not bend the shift rods......

The pin has broke/rusted off. Use a drift punch and drive it out

That was gonna be my next suggestion.....whatever he does, just don't bend the rods......

Got it. It was corroded in there. A little pb blaster and it broke free. Thanks guys.
