Everybody talks about the "vaseline trick" thats just it a trick!!
wow i tried it and thought i was cutting a fat hog in the booty when really all i was doing was wasting time effort and vaseline... plus a big ol' greasy mess...... and yes you lovers of the vaseline it was hot sunny and melted

You did it wrong.

I just dropped my boat off at my marine mechanic and he was amazed how awesome my boat looked, from when he last saw it before I re-vassed it after 3 years. Wasting time and effort? Hmmm, doesn't take much of either in my case.

It's not for everyone.

Are you guys Smoking Weed or what. Vaseline does not damage Paint. Greasy mess no way. If its Greasy and collects dust you did it all wrong.
If its greasy to the touch you did it wrong. I should do a training video on how to apply Vaseline and buff to a shine. Oh by the way I live in the most dusty place on earth. Did you see that big dust cloud that rolled through here.

Reminds me Im getting low on the Stuff. I need to pick some up with a Bottle of wine at Walgreens. I hope there is a young girl at the counter I can give a nice wink to.

Im not sure why the other poster waited three years. Thats a long time without a good vaseline job.

Also Vaseline at 5:30am gives me something to do while I wait for my family to get out of bed before we head to the Lake. Vaseline and running motor on muff at 5:30am. It doesnt get any better than that.

Try to use marine wax for that. I am using that wax 4 years from now and my boat still looks nice at it is.
