Re: How do I get rid of a neighbor's cat?
Just remember people train dogs and cats train people.

It must be hard to be so tough. Every time I see a so called man who can't confront a cat they are wannabe men. Pepper is all you needed. Down here the same type are the ones who think they have to have pit bulls to be a man.
Thanks tough guy. Can you give us some more lessons please? It must be hard to be so tough. Every time I see a so called man who can't confront a cat they are wannabe men. Pepper is all you needed. Down here the same type are the ones who think they have to have pit bulls to be a man.
I would think talking to the neighbors would be the first step. It is unacceptable for anyone's animals to be on your property.
Don't get me started on all the dog owners who walk their dogs with no leash in my neighborhood and think it's just fine for them to run all over yards and "introduce" themselves to me or my 3 year old. I have no problem with dogs, it's "dog people" I can't stand.
The most economical cat-preventing car cover you can buy is aluminum foil.
Another trick is to put the super sticky fly paper all around the auto on the garage floor.
Thanks. That might work exept I think the cat might be at least partially deaf. If you come up behind it, it doesn't know you are there until it sees you. I just took the friendly kahuna123's advice above and sprinkled pepper around liberally in the area where I really don't want it hanging around. It seems the hose spraying has discouraged it from coming up to us anyway. (At least me.)lakelover, try putting several little rocks in a can and shake it (as loud as possible) when the cat is bugging you. This trick has worked for me, the cat takes off so fast the fleas can barely keep up with it. I used this method to train my cats not to sharpen their claws on my sofa. Thanks for caring about this (obviously) neighborly kitty enough to look for real solutions =D
Pepper? What kind of pepper?
That being said, there is no such thing as an "outdoor cat". The same rules should apply to cats as do for dogs. This cat has irresponsible owners and I'd be calling animal control every time it was on my property. People with "outdoor cats" are just feeding strays in my opinion.
Sure there are. Cats and leashes do not mix, like dogs and leashes do. You can't put a cat in your back yard and expect it to stay there like you can with a dog. Some cats are outdoor roamers and cannot stand to be indoors (cruel to make them). Cats are territorial animals and once outside, need to be outside.
