Looks like a bottle opener...that's why it's in front of the passenger side, to prevent operating while under the influence.

Pic 4 is a little dark, but if there are two wires out the back of it, it could be a broken courtesy light of some kind. It looks like two screw holes that would have had a cover lens at one time.

It looks like a gehsnicksly-rehoovinator found at any parts store that sells muffler bearings and corvair radiator caps.

Faria, fine maker of marine equipment, makes a nice muffler bearing gauge that you can put in place of that doohickey.
