Hour meter stopped working in VDO tachometer

Our 1999 Formula 260ss has VDO gauges in it and the tachometer has the hour meter built in. The hour meter has stopped working in it. Any suggestions on troubleshooting it or having it repaired?

SC1000 Working Sporadically

I have a 2007 Sea Ray and my SC1000 Tach worked well for a while. It then became a bit spotty and would only work occasionally but now I can’t get it on at all. The tach works but the smart readings won’t come on at all. The light appears to work, but the LCD screen isn’t showing anything at...

If it’s a digital lcd small screen at the bottom of the gauge, an amateur have a go hero, might have a wee look at the ribbon lead and it’s plug. Just occasionally you can repair this for pennies.
Gauge saver also repair them professionally too.
