hot wire for tach

need to find a switched hot wire for tach installation. Should I splice into the purple wire in the remote control box or is there a better source? thanks.

Open up the control box and wire to the ignition switch.

purple is usually the wire color of the ign accessory wire. That is the wire you want for power to gauges.
