Yeah, I was afraid of that. Momma always said..."If it ain't in Writing...It NEVER happened!!!" His workmans Lein Rights give him the right to hold your seats until he's paid. As mentioned previously, letters to the BBB and the AG's office with copies sent to him should get his attention and cost you nothing. You can pay for the seats, and then take them to another upholsterer to have them done correctly and have them testify against him to get a settlement against him for damages to get your money back from him. But you might have problems getting your money from him in the long run.
It's a tough situation so I'd still try negotiating with him if at all possible. What kind of boat is this?
