I’ve got 1976 Storebro biscay, Swedish boat, ive got windows out to change the seals etc and there is a wooded support glassed In very badly, it was bit rotten and was actually bonded to pice of 4/5 mm aluminium strip that is in turn bonded to fiberglass first , this is original it’s not been bodged up , the front deck was aways a bit springy I assume this was done to strengthen the deck at the factory there is also a hatch above ,I don’t see the point of the aluminium it wasn’t properly bonded to the inside of the superstructure it was loose and the wood wasn’t bonded to the aluminium very well either , would I be better omitting the aluminium strip and just increase the thickness of the wood? going to set the wood into west epoxy thickened with 406 then 2 layers of combi mat
