well, let's just say that i haven't been on this website in a very long time lol nor posted on it in a while.

so wus up? where's all the people lol? remember me?

i've gotten my license and a car =)
still got the old merc and orlando clipper. it will stall every once in a while if i'm not careful buttt! i got the water pump to work finally. my drive shaft was the problem the whole time. it was rusted wayyy too much sooo i got a bigger key and grinding the slot in the impeller down a little bit so it will fit perfectly in there with a tight fit.

wellll, i went to a boat dealer today and basically asked for a job. he asked for my number and i might get a call back after school ends. i told him that school ends june 8th. i'll probably being doing odd jobs and cleaning boats. i mentioned my love for boats and my experience so i might get to shadow a little and work on some other stuff =) minimum wage of course but they're running slow and it beats working at publix =)

any tips?

"any tips?"

No....anyone savvy enough to appreciate Orlando Clippers doesn't need any tips from us. ;)

Welcome back.

Heyy!! It's the Cool Dude! Good to see ya, young fella.

One of the things I have liked most about iboats is watching young boaters grow up.

Hang around and share with us. :)

Tips?
Show up on time. Work hard. Shower at least weekly. Don't take anything that's not yours, even if it's "junk". Say "thank you" occasionally. Stay in school. Avoid women with names that begin with the letter "K".

Don't complain about hard work, that's my tip. In fact, look happy to do it, even when you hate it. When it REALLY sux, go the extra mile and do an even better job, it'll get noticed by any one with any integrity in them. If it's not noticed, move on, they don't deserve you, but still don't complain about it.

Hello Coolguy !
I just joined the forum a few days ago. Thought I'd give you a heads up.......
I just aquired the exact same clipper model that you have .... as close as I can tell
from the pictures anyway. It needs some work. It has a floor stringer that is broken
on each end. I just got that drilled off tonight. Have to make a new one I guess.
My windshield is pretty fogged up. I am trying to polish it out untill I can make a new one. You were mentioning not having a hull number. Have you looked on the right rear corner of the transom on the outside. This one has a number there- a different one
from the other number up on the dash tag (mine says 105)
Do you know if antone is making any replacement parts for clippers ? I want to keep
it as oregional as possible. i will probably take the seats up to work on the hull. While
I'm in there I think I will replace the old white foam with modern blue foam.
Steering cable rotted. Have not really checked the transom wood yet. It appears to
have had the wood replaced in the past using glass but a sloppy looking job.
I will post a pic of it if I can figure out how to do it. Are you on lake conway ?
Thats where this boat was based. I don't think it has been on the water much for at
least 10 years. sat full of rainwater I think. Very little corrosion though. just LOTS
of dirt and leaves an crap.
My dad and several uncles had clippers back in the 50's and 60's when I was a kid.
The plant was in orlando at the airport.

Cheers, and good luck job searching !

i don't remember saying anything about not having the hull number? sorry if i sound funny, i'm really sick at the moment lol....steering cables is easy to redo, transom...well, i didn't do it so i idk but it doesn't require glassing. seeing as the boat is aluminium. my windshield is a little foggy but mainly just dirty. i got the lucky orlando clipper! lol the number at the dash is the serial number. the number in the back is the VIN number.

Re: heyyyyy!

Sorry you are sick ! Eat more garlic - it kills germs on contact with your lings ! Get well soon !
Sorry I must have you confused with someone else- I think I have read about every Clipper related post on here !
Good to know that is a VIN number ! I will need that this week ! I always new if I got a boat it should be aluminum.
Low maintenance. And its a classic too. I notice your seats appear to be a blue-green color and mine are grey /silver.
Does yours have the oregional trailer too ? If yes I was wondering what the thing on the back does that has the outboard
levers on each side and the rubber roller hooked to it like a crankshaft -- It looks like it holds the hull up off the bunks while
it slides onto the trailer - but what holds the mechanism up while thats going on ??????

Get well soon so you can enjoy your beautifull aluminum baby !

I redid my Clipper's transom a couple off years ago. Was not particularly difficult.

Look up the thread if you are interested, or PM me and I can send some pics.

Re: heyyyyy!

lol yes, my seats are like green because they were custom made from the previous owner. i also have the bimini frame but no fabric as it rotted away years ago. i do not own a trailer for the boat as it was lost many years ago. the boat remains in a boat lift. :D sorry, i do not know anything about the trailer other than it carries the boat;)

yesterday was my last day of school and i'm thinking about calling the guy back to see where my job status stands. show him that i'm interested :D
