Welcome aboard.

Just as an FYI, your free boat will be extremely expensive to get it operational.

the motor is the cheapest part of fixing the boat. the old OMC brands such as the boat you have there were not known for great build quality. expect to pour about $5k into the hull

before you spend any money on the boat, get it registered in your name.

if you do not have a title / bill of sale, you wont get it registered without it.

Looks like it's been sitting outside uncovered,
As a 38yr old boat, it's likely to need extensive work below deck and a new transom. Plus a new interior & motor

its a mid 80's OMC brand. so the build quality was garbage. most rotted and fell apart in the 90s

the maximum life expectancy of a boat designed in the 80's is about 15 years without major work.

The motor is an ----" OMC Seadrive " -----Nothing but a longshaft outboard with special bracket to tilt it clear of the water.-----If it is a V-4 it is about 115 HP.----A V-6 could be 150 + HP .------Model # of the Seadrive is ?------Nothing like rebuilding a boat that you have now.------It is a lot of work if transom / stringers are rotten.-----And it takes longer than you think.-----Lot of smiles when you are done.------Post the all important compression test values on this motor.
