I'm building a runabout from plans, and I'm trying to find a speedo and tach to match the '79 Johnson and controls I'm taking off my pontoon for the project. I've found a 1979 OMC speedo and tach from several different suppliers (all with the same part number). I can wire in the tach., but I'm wondering if anyone knows if the speedo or tach light up? My engine only supplies 5 amps through the accessory circuit, but I can't find the power rating for the speedo anywhere (if it even lights up). The parts guy I talked to at one of the companies wasn't very helpful.
Is anyone familiar with tachometer OMC #173493 or speedo OMC # 0172985?
A HUGE bonus would be for pictures of either of the faces, as I can't find those online anywhere...
