HELP with 25hp Merc

I have a 95' 25hp Merc (SN# OC 151547) and I hit a rock and bent the prop shaft. I managed to remove the lower unit (took a while to figure out that there was a clip behind the starter to drop shift linkage) but I can not figure out how the prop shaft comes out. I removed the prop and there is a plate with 3 5/16" screws and I removed those screws but the shaft wont come out.

Anyone know?

You need a removal tool. What it does is when you pull those bolts out you put this puller in the bolt holes. Pull it till it all comes apart. You can get them all a dealer or make on your self.

how do you make one yourself? what tools and materials do you need to make one?
