Hi, New member here.
I just purchased a 1965 starcraft special with a 1959 evinrude fat fifty starflite, model #50519. The tilt assit spring is broken. Does anyone know where I can get one and how difficult is it to put in? I have a clymer manual but it only covers power tilt. Also does anyone know if they made an assist lift lever? The engine cowel only has handles and not the hand slot to put one on.
Thanx

That is one big, fat spring. I would think it would be real hard to replace it.

I never saw a tilt lever for that motor. It does have the mounting holes in the rear lower cowling for that straight bar they used in those days. maybe you could bolt up something using those holes and the handhold in the rear of the top cowl.
