ok, i am going to try to describe this to the best of my ability. I have a 1996 175 HP Evinrude that starts on the first try and runs very well. I have a rough idle when you are in calm water which i dont understand, because when trolling you really dont notice it. That is my small issue. i will take advice on what that could be.
My bigger problem is that once up on plane, we can be going along and then all of the sudden, wam! the motor dies. Now, the only thing that i have figured out is that we are not having an electical issues because it starts right back up no problems. I have also eliminated the oil warning (which i dont even think that i have one) as well as the overheating issue, the engine runs at about 135.
i think that i am loosing prime somehow but am unsure how. I am planning on replacing the in-line fuel filter to eliminate that as a problem. Does anyone have a clue what else this could be???
