pull the center cap of the steering wheel. Remove the center nut (3/4) and pull the wheel. Now remove the trim bezel covering the helm --probably plastic with two phillips head screws sunk into it. Now you can access the mounting bolts--usually 1/2 inch heads and nuts.

ok thanks Frank, that center piece was a pain when i was trying to remove it. Any tips on removing the center piece. I seen a little tiny flat head screw, unscrewed and try to pry the center cap out but still no luck.

#2- hey if you could take another look at the picture, i hooked the negative cable from my fishfinder to a bolt the top of that steering rack. Trying to eliminate engine noise showing up on fish finder. Think that ground will work good?or forsee any issues? The unit did turn on.

Ayuh,... For noise, ya oughta ground Directly to the battery, not through the riggin'....

Run a direct wire to the dash area, 'n end it with a buss bar...
