Help please

I have a 1979 mercury 200 20 hp outboard with eletric start that I can not get to turn over it will start prop will turn then it slowly, or dies right away I'm thinking I need to get a tune up. Please let me know your thought about this I'm new to boating thanks.

Sorry will start over was in a rush and thanks for the welcome, I got the motor from a buddy there is no pull start no tiller handle it was hooked up to an eletric start with the shifter he told me it was winterized last fall. I hooked it up to the car batterie and tried to fire it up it would start up but won't fire up and spin the prop then just die, would try again and this time the prop would spin once then die right after added gas(mix) and tried a couple more times but same results called it quits.

pull start is under engine cover open look for rope also under cover must be wound on buy hand to flywheel.if you dont understand seek help from local boat shop we dont need any injuries check for old fuel in carb take off bowl see if syrup like if so needs cleaning or maybe to much fogging oil when winterized clean plugs try again

yea ..you need to go ahead and learn how to rebuild/clean your carbs, it will not be the last time you have to do it.
