1983 is the USA first year over here

Actually, 1984 model year is the first year for Yamaha branded Yamaha motors to be sold and imported directly by Yamaha.

go to www.marinshopen.se for foreign motor identification..go to the Yamaha section and scroll down to the 695 and you'll see that prefix starts in 1979
