After using the old humminbird helix 5 for over 5 years now, I finally upgraded to a Garmin 93SV with a GT54 transducer. I am having a hard time figuring a place to put it. Everything I've read tells me basically no where. I've got 2x6 bunks that I just installed, a trolling motor, the outboard, and another transducer all in close proximity. The actual transom on the boat is only 18" wide. In one of the pictures below you can see some screws in the bottom starboard corner of the transom. I'm assuming a transducer was there at some point. The outer edge of the transom to the AV plate on the lower unit is only 5". The best place I can think to put it is on the port side right outside the strap. I don't know how that will work with the transducer being at an outward angle, and I don't know how well side imaging will end up working. Any suggestions?
