After using the old humminbird helix 5 for over 5 years now, I finally upgraded to a Garmin 93SV with a GT54 transducer. I am having a hard time figuring a place to put it. Everything I've read tells me basically no where. I've got 2x6 bunks that I just installed, a trolling motor, the outboard, and another transducer all in close proximity. The actual transom on the boat is only 18" wide. In one of the pictures below you can see some screws in the bottom starboard corner of the transom. I'm assuming a transducer was there at some point. The outer edge of the transom to the AV plate on the lower unit is only 5". The best place I can think to put it is on the port side right outside the strap. I don't know how that will work with the transducer being at an outward angle, and I don't know how well side imaging will end up working. Any suggestions? For the geometry of SV to work right you need to be on starboard side, 2-3” outside the radius of the prop, ie 15” prop = 9” to 10” off center line of the boat.

Face of transducer must be parallel to the bottom, no matter what deadrise you have

I'm going to be pushing it... I'll try to mount it where those screws are and see what happens.

Side view should work. Just going to “wash” things out if the put the boat in reverse.
It could just be the picture, but The transducer must be parallel with the flow of water over the haul. Shim the mount of need be. The other transducer looks a bit skewed

The other transducer is skewed, but I never really cared because I only used it for a depth and structure general idea. I don't want to do that with this one though. I just measured and I have 1" between the prop radius and where the transducer would be on the outer edge of the transom.
