Hello everyone my name is Tony. As the title says and probably suggests I'm not sure what boat my grandfather had and even more importantly I know next to nothing about boats. From the litte searching I've done it looks like a Chris Craft Cantina 280. Any confirmation and/or information about this would be great. My grandfather passed away in 2010 and I've been hoping to restore this.

Cantina doesn't ring a bell. Maybe Catalina?

Knowing nothing about boats is a hard way to start a restoration.

A boat that hasn't been run in 14 years means that the entire fuel system needs a major restoration (replacement). "Winterized" properly? If not, the engine may be stuck and not worth restoration. If water was left in the hull, you're looking at thousands to make it seaworthy.

Salt Water usage - personally, I'd pass.

Sentimental value? Go for it. Just be assured that what you spend will be more than it is worth, even in the best of circumstances.

Sorry to be a naysayer, but you should understand what you are getting into.
