Help me decode this VIN

From what I can see and read this motor should be a 1988, but I can't narrow it down for sure.

Sorry, But I'm not sure, I don't have a hole lot of hands on experience with outboards.

Hopefully someone will see this, and help you with your thermostat Questions.

In the mean time, Here is a link to your engine parts. It talks about a thermostat in the CYLINDER BLOCK AND THERMOSTAT area, But I don't see one listed in the parts.:redface:

Yeah I look at that diagram and I don't see one listed.

The reason I am asking, I replaced the impeller but nothing is shooting out. I don't see any blockages. So that's why I was thinking maybe it had a bad theromstat (Stuck Closed)
