Hey everyone,
I know this has been discussed at length but I cannot find a link that helps me.

So I have a 1976 mercruiser 888. When I bought the boat the outdrive had been pulled apart and the mechanic said it was cheaper to put an already built MR drive on instead of reassembling the old leg. So as far as I know I have an "M" bell housing and an "MR" leg. Can anyone help confirm this for me based on the attached pics?

And if anyone has a link to a video or a manual, I need to replace the gimbal bearing and all the bellows. Also going to replace the shift cable since I have one and I'm in there anyway.

I can find all kind of info on "MR" and alpha one but nothing on a "M" bell housing .

Thanks

You have a MR drive on a R gimbal.
Thanks for that info.

Why is it impossible to find any information on removing the bell housing to get at the bellows and water hose? I even downloaded the clymer manuals. Waste of money. Doesn't tell me how to remove the bell housing in any detail.

Anyone have a video or info on this procedure?
