I did use the 1.5oz Mat along with many other products listed above. Its really not that hard just time consuming. And I highly Highly suggest use a Air compressor and spray gun, it saves time and messy final coats. and its easier. Take your time and do it right. I was able to buy everything I needed on Iboats.com.
I did try out this new product going around by 3M Marine Premium Filler - Vinyl Ester, and I have to say this stuff is great, easy to work with and when mixed right its does as advertised and helps save time. and very very sander friendly.
Gel Kote I also used the PVA Mold Release to get rid of the sticky film it left, just sprayed some PVA on it and it got hard and was able to wet sand to final coat.
We are very happy with how it looks and we saved alot, just need some Icy hot or the elbows!!
