Is this a in line six? Are there any numbers on the bracket by the transom clamps? What are the markings on the wrap? Red - Blue stripes etc. Need more info.

Hi Guys, motor is a '84ish I think. Lower unit is a 81 150. But I am having a hard time tracking the part #s. First off I need carb kits.
THANKS

Well if it an 84ish, then you should be able to find the disc on the block.

Hi Gerry, there is no disk. Motor is a reman Im guessing. was hoping some of those Part # would mean something, especially the carb # since kits are what i need first.

We can probably get you the repair kits for the carbs. Can you see what the WH numbers are on the carbs?

How many carbs and how many cylinders? If 6, is it an inline?

Mark;

Presumably you have six if these carbs and on each block they should be identified as top, centre and bottom and generally identified by a - number as -1, -2 and -3.

The number 1382-6425 is an outdated number for a WH-38 carb. The latest p/n appears to be 1382-7563A13/14 and 15. Therefore your carbs should have some kind of stamping (usually top front or mounting flange of the carb) which shows WH-38-1, WH-38-2 and WH-38-3.

Here is a chart for V6 engines and you will see that the -38 is used on V135 1986 thru 1990 and V150, 1978 thru 1990. These can be Mariner as well as Mercury:

http://outboardparts.com/mercury/mall/mercv6carbkit.htm

Here is a link for repair kits for WH-38 carbs:

http://mercuryperformance.com/7826-repair-parts-kit-wh-38-p-107215.html

You see the class as 1395 and the p/n as 7826 which becomes a p/n 1395-7826. Use this p/n to search for a good price.

To confirm this, I would call the Merc hotline (920-929-5200), give them the 1382-6425 number and they should be able to confirm the 1382-7563A numbers and if the 1395-7826 is a good repair kit for your carbs.
I see that they want your engine s/n but what the hell give them a call anyway of if you have a good Merc dealer in your area.

I am sorry if this is all confusing but with such limited info to go on, it's the best I can come up with for now.

Gerry
