HELP - Cable Removal

How do you remove the pin from this cable?

More likely its a stud pressed into the plate. you navigate the cable end off the stud.

looks like a rivet to me. would have to be drilled out if thats the case

FYI - There is actually a clip in the middle of that pin which keeps it in place

I thought that clip would be the first thing I dropped and lost. Install went flawless. Thanks, Bt. I much prefer this old style shift/control to the 80s style Quicksilver. A much sturdier feel.
