Hello all,
I'm new here and just picked up a 1972 Starcraft Holiday 18' with a 65 hp Johnson OB.
I started going through some of the things that came with it and found the bimini top. It looks like new, does anyone know how to put this thing on the boat?

Thanks

Welcome aboard,

Normally the price of admission into the Starmada requires pics and the more the better. :)

Dues paid! That is super clean. Actually digging the old pea green color. If it doesnt leak, and the floors/transom are solid, im not sure id change a thing! Just stitch up the torn seats n enjoy it. Whats your plans for her?

I'll second @Moserkr on keeping the Green. It's only original once. Very cool that all the period-correct electronics are still in place.
That being said, it's yours to enjoy. No shame in modifying to fit your vision

Thanks. I was told the floor was replaced about 6 years ago and it was stored in a barn since. The floors seem to be solid and the transom is clean. Not sure about leaks. I don’t plan on changing anything because of how clean it is and I do have to figure out how to patch the two seats. And I’m not really sure what my plans are, I kind of fell into this. I would like to take it out a few time but I want to make sure the remote works and engine runs ok before doing that. Any suggestions or things I should look more into?
Thanks.

Yeah that's the 70's avocado green, you could even get appliances in that green.

The motor will need some attention for sure. Pull the spark plugs and drain the gear case oil. Spray some fogging oil in the cylinders and turn it over by hand, replace the plugs with new. Inspect gear oil for signs of water and if it is one of the electric shift models you'll need to use special gear oil just for it. Water pump replacement kit for it is very important. Inspect wiring harness for any rotten wires. 99% of the time the carbs will need cleaned and to a lesser degree rebuild kits but new gaskets and cleaning usually does the trick.

These 3 cyl large gear case Johnny's are great motors.

Your location ?----And what parts would you be looking for.----Most consumable parts for that 1972 motor are readily available.----Used parts are available if you know how to shop.

Thank you for the information. Is there a place that you guys use for parts?

Find your motors serial or model number plate is the first challenge, after that getting outboard parts is easy. I use a pretty specific website that sells OEM parts and may be a competitor of iboats so I won't be posting it here.
