WOW!!! Got back Saturday evening ... wish it could have been longer. Stonewall Jackson Resort is pretty awesome! The food and amenities were great, but the service was incredible! The staff were so extremely friendly and they ALL bent over backwards to make us feel comfortable, at home, and appreciated. I would go back again just because of the outstanding service they provided!
The lake was pretty cool ... a lot of stick-ups throughout the lake and the catch and release all bass program has made the bass fishery pretty good. The crappie were schooling and hitting like crazy also. I only got about 2 - 2 1/2 hours to fish, but in that time caught 3 "keeper" bass, a few bluegill, and about 40 crappie - all on soft plastics and spinnerbaits.
Lot's of wildlife, the buffets were amazing, didn't take the clubs, but the Arnold Palmer Gold Course looked very challenging. Many hiking and biking trails (and bike rental was included in the cost of the room), kayaks and paddle boats also included in room cost, as was the cruise boat that went out every evening.
Haven't had time to get the pictures off the camera yet ... will do that and post if there are any good ones.
