Hello, I got a 1956 Evinrude 3 hp Lightwin model 3018. The head gasket at NAPA says it's for '57 and up; but has the same OMC number as my '56, 203130. Is ther any reason this won't work ? Also does the cyl. head have a up and down , it looks the same either way, just thought I'd check with the pros here first. -Thanks

I have a 1961 starflite 75 hp 4cyc. (disassembled) As far as I recall they didnt change the design until 1960 on the 4cyc. I assume it was the same on yours. If it matches up I assume its a go. Theres not much info on them. But Seloc makes a manual for them. My manual covers 1958 to 1972, 50hp to 125 hp.

Heres a link on them

I got a 1971 Eska as my kicker motor. Its nice the old motors suck gas but they are built like tanks.

There is a small tab or projection on the head. There is a matching tab on the head gasket. It they are not aligned, simply flip the gasket over. The tab goes "up" on the motor. Proper bolt torque is 60-80 inch/lbs. The same gasket was used for ages.
