Ok, I can`t find anyone in the louisville area who owns or uses the Quickstraight, prop shaft straightening system. I`m actually thinking of purchasing one for my personal use, and maybe friends or contacts that I meet in the future. The unit is very expensive, and I am just wondering if anyone has ever used or had experience with one. I know, replacing the lower unit, or taking it to a shop for a shaft replacement is the safest thing to do. I just hate for this to ever happen to me again and have the same expense in the future.I figure, I can make my money back, if I straighten 2 or 3 other peoples slightly bent shafts along the way. So far it seems as only boat dealers purchase these things, probably because of the high initial cost. 1000 bucks. all testimonies so far have been from dealers, and they all love them.

Hmm Never seen one myself, But you can straighten a shaft with a hydraulic press, some V-Blocks, and dial indicators. It will take a little time but when your finished IT'S STRAIGHT !.....Just My thoughts, I have never seen the machine you talked about..
I suppose it's a question of how often do you need it because others prolly need it done just as Often / Rare as you do. Could you pay for it by helping others, Sure but how long it will take would be the question.

Just some Thought's !! Good Luck...

Thanks for the reply. The nice thing about the quickstraight is , you can straighten the shaft without removing anything but the prop. It seems like the only people who know about is the dealers. They seem to be the only ones willing to pay the price. Check out the site. Google quickstraight.

Seems like a lot of money for a hydraulic ram kit and a bracket. I can buy one of the hydraulic ram kits at HF for $100. No way I'd spend a grand on that.

I thought the same thing about the expense, and the bracket looks like it could be made pretty easily. For alot less money, I think it would be a good system. I`m surprised They are not more widely used. If you watched the video, it seems like it would work pretty easily.

Ayuh,...
Probably because if you Wack it hard enough to bend the propshaft, it shoud be torn down, Inspected,+ rebuilt...
As Usually there's More Problems than Just a bent propshaft...

Is the shaft straightened while in place? Without dis-assembly? Oooooo poor seals and whatever else that is taking the stress

Ok, I think I`ll just replace the lower unit. I hear the Sei units are the same price as replacing the prop shaft.
