It is a time of the year when we should take a few moments to reflect on our life, the hurdles, the blessings, and what lies ahead. The first thing I would like to do is give thanks for all of the blessing of this past year which include all of the you on this forum, and others.
For many this year and in the coming year we may see some unwelcome hurdles. There may be a Christmas present or two that we could not buy or give. There may be a flight that we can't afford and therefore a relative or loved one we will not see this holiday. Whatever the sacrifice that we will endure, please remember that all of this is temporary and better times will be appreciated more.
Most of all, give a word of encouragement, a helping hand, a warm coat, or a donation to someone you meet who is in need. It will be the best gift you can give yourself this season.
One more thing, since the News Media is dwelling on the negative, let's share some happy moments and see if we can't lift a spirit or two.
